Sandra Andrade, PsyD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a private practice in Westlake Village, California. Sandra specializes in working with children, teens, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotion dysregulation, and traits consistent with Borderline Personality Disorder.
She graduated with her doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University with an emphasis in individuals, family, children, and couples. Sandra has strengthened her education and increased her skills by attending additional courses and training through Dr. Marsha Linehan's Behavioral Tech (2012 and 2016) and Lane Pederson's DBTNCAA (2014) programs to enhance and to add to her proficiency with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Sandra is currently participating in the intensive training program for DBT through Behaioral Tech to prepare her for certification. Additionally, she has attended courses with Tina Bryson, Ph.D. and Daniel Siegel, M.D. discussing The Whole Brain Child and other treatment and therapy strategies in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, attachment theory, and Interpersonal Neurobiology.
Sandra has worked in the field for over 10 years. Prior to private practice, Sandra worked with clients of all ages experiencing a variety of mental health difficulties including, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, traumatic brain injuries, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder. She has also worked in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient settings.
Sandra utilizes many tools to work with her clients and provides a comfortable space to help facilitate change. She utilizes many modalities to assist her clients including, but not limited to mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal skills.
Sandra spent her early life in Gulfport, Mississippi and preteen and teen years in Ventura County, California. During her time away from the office she enjoys training for triathlons, supporting Children's hospital Los Angeles, honoring the life of her first daughter, and enjoys spending quality time with her second daughter and husband.
